2D Digital - Week 2:
In this blog I will talk about the different perspective grids we did in class, showing the grids that I drew as well. We went over 2 point, 3 point, 5 point, drawing fences that are equidistant to each other and using 2 point in a drawing.
2 Point:
To make a 2 point grid you want to start off by placing 2 points on opposite parts of the canvas outside of where you want your scene to be. You then want to create a line across to the other one and then create lines that span out from the points on both sides. You can add more lines if you need when you are creating your scene.
3 Point:
To create a 3 point grid it is very similar to making a 2 point grid as you will have to create a 2 point grid first and then you will place another dot at either the top of the scene to show it as if you are looking up or you can place it at the bottom of your scene to show it as if you are looking down.
5 Point:
To create a 5 point grid you will need to create dots at the top, bottom, left and right sides and in the middle of the canvas. You will need to create curved lines from each of the points to the one across from it and each line created will get a bigger curve. It creates a fish eye lens.
Fences:
To create a line of fences that are equidistant to each other, you need to create your starting fence point on the horizon line and then create another fence depending on how spread out you would like the fences. You will then make an x between both of the lines you have. Once you have that, you want to make a longer line that goes through the top of the second line to the vanishing point. You will use that point where the two lines cross over and that is where you will create your next line for the fence. You will continue making the longer lines up to the second vanishing point until you have the fence posts you need or reach the vanishing point.
