Project Management:

In this blog I will be talking about the different scheduling methods that I used and how I created them. I will also share why I find these helpful and how they will be used throughout the project.

Kanban Chart:

I created a Kanban chart as I really like to use lists to help in knowing what I need to create and I can lay it out in a way that helps me as I can reword the briefs given so that it makes sense to me. If I used simple lists it would be harder to keep track of everything and when things were completed so I wanted to use a Kanban chart so that it was easier to see what I had finished and what I needed to finish before the deadlines.

I used a program called MindView which I used to create the Kanban chart quite quickly as its quite a simple tool to use as they have a template for creating Kanban charts. I needed to create each task that I needed to work on so that I could then move them on the Kanban chart for when I was working on it and then move it over to completed.

Gantt Chart:

I created a Gantt chart to help me keep track of important dates, when I need to start working on a task and when I should be finishing them. This is so that I could make sure that I was keeping track of where I should be in the project at what time. This also meant that I could work at my own pace whilst also making sure that I could finish the project on time with everything that I needed to complete.

I marked down on my Gantt chart the important dates that I needed to keep track of so that I didn't forget any dates and so I could prepare for the dates to come up. It is helpful to be able to see them so that I can see how long I have till the date and depending on if its the meeting date or the formative I can see what I need to do before those dates so I can be prepared.

To create the Gantt chart I used Team Gantt to create my Gantt chart as I was struggling to make it as I originally tried to create it in Mind View first however struggled with that so moved onto trying with excel but found it even harder as I don't have much experience with creating Gantt charts myself. I created it in Team Gantt as I found it much easier to understand how to create it so that it was understandable and easy to see what I needed to work on for what day.

I set out each task on the Gantt Chart depending on how long it would take me to complete it and I made sure to give myself more time to create certain things such as the thumbnails and 2D designs as it is one of my weaknesses that I am working on however I knew I would need more time to work on them than I would making the models so it balanced out.
