Zbrush - Week 4:
In this blog I will look at defamation tools, polygroups and clip brushes and look at how you can use them in models that you are working on or to make your modelling process quicker.
Defamation tools:
The deformation tool can either be found in tools > deformation or on the right side bar. You will need to be in the transform or edit mode to be able to use them. Each deformer can be used on either the x, y or z axis or even all of them at the same time. You can select them on the side by where you would edit the slider.
I was using the twist deformation tool to be able to edit the head that I was using to be able to test the deformation tool so that I could see how each of them worked on a model.
Polygroups:
Polygroups can be used to be used to make masking easier and quicker. You can press Shift > (f) to place your model into Polyframe, it will make your model red and place black squares on top of your model. You can then use the masks tool to mask off different parts of the model you want to separate. Once you have masked the area off you can do Ctrl > (W) which will make the masked area in a new colour. You can Ctrl > Shift > Click to be able to move or modify the part of the model that you have masked.

Clip Brushes:
Clip brushes can be used in different ways however they act similarly to how erases cut away at a drawing however these work like cutting out a section of your model. They will respect the masks that you have too so you don't have to be super careful with going over areas that you don't want to be cut.
I cut out certain areas of the sphere that I had put into the workspace however along the edges they are quite sharp however I used Dynomesh to be able to smooth out the edges. I tried it out on another sphere too.
