2D - Week 4:
In this blog I will talk about the drawings we were asked to complete in lesson and how we went about creating the gesture drawings.
We were asked to pick a scene from a film and draw the post that the actor was doing. We could choose from a dynamic pose or a more simple and relaxed pose. I chose a more relaxed pose as I just wanted to focus on getting the proportions right with a simple gesture. We lowered the opacity of the image and I chose a red so it would be easily seen and then I drew over the image with lines symbolising the head, arms, legs, hands and torso.
We then removed the image underneath to see the gesture drawing that we had completed.
I added some curved lines to the drawing to help when drawing the arms and legs in so that it was easier to see how the arm should curve.
Using the curved lines as a guide I used cylinders for the arms, there is a few areas that needed to be changed such as the lines on the left arm (the one with the arrow) I needed to change the way the lines curved.
