Real Worlds - Week 2:

In this blog I will talk about how I have been getting on with obtaining research and where I am up to with my thumbnails for this week.

Schedule: 


Currently I am on track with where I should be with my schedule other than researching the licencing that I need to research. I should be able to catch up for next week though to make sure that I don't fall behind.

What I did this week:

I finished both the SWOT, IP research and the art direction this week and would continue to research the others throughout the weeks and I would add to the research I already had as well. It didn't take me long to write the SWOT analysis as I created it with bullet points and I had quite a few ideas that I could put down before I started creating it. I found it quite hard to fill in the strengths category as I find it quite hard to see where I do well in projects however I found it easier this time as I took into account that I chose the 3D pathway so I could say that I was quite proficient with 3D as I have nearly 4 years of experience with using Maya. 

For the IP research and art direction I was struggling with what to put down in my dossier as I didn't know what would be useful information to have and what wouldn't be. I tried to gather a range of information about them however hoped that in the future I would be able to add more to them both when I had time to go back over the research and add more.

I started creating a few thumbnails with initial designs however I haven't been able to create many however in the next week or so I hope to have more so that I get closer to the minimum amount of thumbnails required. I don't have as many thumbnails as I do for the Asterians and even though there isn't much of a difference with the amount of them I still think that because I have more of an idea of what I wanted to do with the Asterians it was easier to come up with ideas quicker than it was with the Enforcers at the moment. I want to do a bit more research into the Enforcers to see if I can come up with any additional ideas for them to help with creating the thumbnails.

I was looking at the pathfinder characters as I found them interesting due to the drones that they use. I wanted to create a character that would use a drone to scout out ahead and I had an idea that the glasses could be used to see what the drone see as I thought about drone operators in real life that use a vr headset to be able to see where they are going so I wanted to take inspiration from that.

What I need to start for next week: 



I decided to give myself an extra week to work on thumbnails when I created my Gantt chart as I knew that the thumbnails would take me quite a while to finish and due to me having two characters to do thumbnails for I gave myself two weeks rather than one so I wasn't as stressed about them.
