Zbrush - Week 13:

In this blog I will be talking about the art and research that I created and gathered in lesson for our project for Zbrush.

Research:

I started researching what the different hair types and dresses were between the 1850s and 1860s. I wanted to see which one I would prefer to create the character in as it would affect the way that I would create the hair and dress for the character.

1850s:

1860s:

Looking at different types of hair and dresses from both the time periods helped me decide which one I wanted to focus on for taking inspiration from. I wanted to make sure that I chose a time period that fit within the years of the Victorian Era however I wanted to choose a time that I liked the outfits for and that I felt confident enough to be able to create an outfit in Zbrush that was inspired by that time period.

I decided instead of using just one for inspiration I will use both as I thought that it would be more interesting for the outfit and character to have both elements of each time period.

Art:

For the extra concepts of the dress I did, I wanted to use some of the ideas that I already had and work on editing them to make the dresses bigger as I found a lot of the dresses I was looking at in my research so I wanted to make a few concepts with bigger skirts but still using the same type of tops that I got good feedback for from the original dresses. I am quite happy with how they turned out and I really like the dress silhouette of number 9 which maybe the dress that I use for the character design.
