Zbrush - Week 14:

In this blog I will be talking about the orthographic that I made for the creation of my character in Zbrush and the progress of what I have finished in Zbrush already.

Orthographic:

This is the orthographic that I created to help me when I create my model in Zbrush. I used it to help me get the base of my model before I go to put more detail into the design. I am quite happy with how it turned out as usually I really struggle with drawing so to be able to draw something that I am happy with that I can then use to create it in 3D makes it much easier.

Model Creation:

I decided I wanted to use a base mesh that I already had so that I didn't have to waste as much time creating the base mesh before making the character when I didn't have much time before the deadline so I wanted to save time where I could. I edited the base mesh to how I needed but I didn't want to spend too much time with editing the base mesh when I needed to start working on the outfit and hair sooner rather than later. I do wish I had left more time for sculpting however its something I need to work on for the future with my time management.

When putting it into Zbrush I started by using the lightroom function to put the orthographic in the scene however I was struggling to model with it being behind the model however one of my friends suggested that I use another function to make it so that the orthographic appeared in front of the model instead of being behind which was much easier to model with.

This is my progress on my model. I used the orthographic as a guide to be able to create the base of the model which made it much easier to create however as I have created the outline for the dress, I won't need to use the orthographic as much as I mainly just need to add detail now. I still need to add the hands and head however I believe this is a good start to making the character. I think this is good progress that I have made on my character so far which I hope to continue with soon.
