2D - Week 6:
In this blog I will talk about what we were working on in lesson, the different exercises we were asked to complete.
Hand Diagrams:
These are the hand diagrams that we completed at the start of the lesson before going onto the studies of hands. The left hand is the dorsal side and the right hand is the palmar side.
Hand pose practice:

This is a hand pose that I thought would be easier to do as we were asked to draw several different hands holding something and a few that were more dynamic poses. I struggle with drawing hands so I thought this would be a good one to start with. I drew over the original image so that I could see where everything should go. This helped me when I went to draw it to the side in the blue. There are a few issues I found such as the thumb needing to be moved slightly down and the fingers to be more of a cylinder shape rather than oval however it was a good attempt.
We were asked to make a pose with our hand then draw it and I decided that I wanted to do my hand stretching out which is the image on the left. I found that I could get the basic shapes down however the fingers I was having trouble with due to getting the wrong length or wrong shape. However with more practice I hope to be able to get the proportions right. The image on the right is where we were asked to draw our hand from the opposite direction whilst still looking at it from the original view. This was so that we could work on drawing from visualisation. I found the part in red to be quite simple however I struggled with getting the hands in the correct placement as it looked like they were facing straight upwards instead of leaning slightly.
Hand drawings:
I am quite happy with the hand drawings I got done, I didn't get many done as they took me a while to draw them however I do feel that they are quite good even though I haven't done many drawing of hands before.
