Zbrush - Week 9:

In this blog I will talk about what I worked on during the workshop lesson that we had such as making the moodboards that I will use to create my character and the research that I need to do.

Moodboards:

I used Pinterest to create different moodboards that I could use to be able to help with creating my character depending on which I chose to go with. I had two that I need to choose between so I created moodboards for both of them to see if making the moodboards would help me decide which one I wanted to focus on.

Ghostly Victorian Noble:

This is the start I made on the moodboard that I created on Pinterest. I mainly focused on getting images for the dress first, some of the images are based on actual dresses that were worn in the 1800s however some are just modern versions of what those dresses could look like today.

I want to focus on going down a more historical route making sure that I make the dresses as accurate as I can as I enjoy looking into the history of fashion of that time. After I finish looking into the dresses I will look into other important things such as the hair styles, accessories and the colour schemes.

Forest Guardian:

I had a much smaller moodboard for the Forest Guardian and it helped me realise that I wasn't as interested in creating a character for this topic as I was the Ghostly Victorian Nobel as I had less images on my moodboard, I had spent less time researching it and I didn't have much of an idea by the end of it as I did with the Ghostly Victorian Noble.

I realised after making both the moodboards that I wanted to focus on the Ghostly Victorian Noble rather than the Forest Guardian as I have more interest into researching the Victorian Era and using that research to create the character that I want to create rather than creating a character that I am not interested in.

I believe creating both of the moodboards was helpful though as it helped me narrow down my choices to which character I wanted to create. I don't believe that I wasted time making both of them as I believe both were helpful in the decision that I made and I may take inspiration from both moodboards as there are certain things that I want to include from the Forest Guardians designs as long as it fits with the design I go for and the year that I choose to place my character in.
